We have Fiesta vans in Finland too but here they still have the rear side windows. You don’t notice that they are legally vans unless you spot the cargo barrier. You can get certain tax discounts by registering a car as a van but it will drop the maximum allowed speed to 100 km/h (our main highways have 120 km/h limit during the summertime).

They’re slow sellers in most places. The reason for buying a car derived van is that if you’re in a country that taxes cars heavily a van is likely to be substantially cheaper so a business that needs to send one or two people out with minimal tools or equipment could use one of these. They’re generally made as cars and then the rear seats and windows are taken out.

It’s more common to buy a purpose-built little van like a Renault Kangoo.

I like the Fiesta van. I see a few of them daily. They are great for small deliveries such as flower deliveries and car parts sellers.

The other Ford van range mean you can pick a van for your specific size requirements.

The Ford Transit Courier, Transit Connect, Transit Custom and well, the , er Transit.

And just because it’s a work van doesn’t mean it can’t look ruddy good.

I like it. Sort of a mini,mini van. Wonder why they didn’t give it a try in the US? Import a few and give it a spot in their truck/van line up for intercity work.
